Bromomethane (CH3Br )
About Bromomethane
At standard temperature and pressure, bromomethane is a colorless, non-flammable gas with no distinct smell. Bromomethane is also known as methyl bromide. Inhalation of sufficient quantities of bromomethane can cause muscle tremors, seizures, kidney damage, nerve damage, and even death.
Bromomethane is used as a pesticide for rats, insects and fungi. It is shipped in pressurized containers.
Bromomethane Valve Closure Systems (Shutdown Systems)
Powell Emergency Valve Closure Systems are designed to prevent significant releases of hazardous gases like Bromomethane. In the case of an accidental release, the emergency valve closure system will close the valves in 10 seconds or less, effectively preventing further release from the container.
