PNEUMATIC
Ideal for applications where air or nitrogen is readily available. Fail-closed design operates even if AC power or air pressure is lost. Requires 90 psig.
ADAPTABLE

The MaxPro Ra's unique,mounting bracket can be mated to any of several available valve
adapters - allowing the system to be used on valves commonly found on chlorine cylinders,
chlorine ton containers, sulfur dioxide cylinders, sulfur dioxide ton containers,
anhydrous ammonia cylinders, anhydrous ammonia ton containers, liquid hydrogen chloride
cylinders, liquid hydrogen chloride containers, and many more. Following is an example of the various kinds of valves the
MaxPro RA system is compatible with:
VERSATILE
Applicable to a variety of valve designs and hazardous chemicals
in 150lb cylinders and ton containers, including but not limited to:
*Designed in accordance with The Chlorine Institute’s guidelines for valve closure
systems.
Also accommodates vacuum regulators
(chlorinators).
EASY TO INSTALL
Designed for both ton containers and 150-lb gas cylinders. Unique mounting
bracket easily attaches and detaches from the valve stem in seconds, without
tools.
DEPENDABLE
Mounts on the valve body, not the yoke. This prevents any torque from being transferred to the yoke, which could cause the lead gasket between the yoke and container valve to fail, resulting in a dangerous leak.
POWERFUL
Automatically responds to any alarm input, instantly closing valves with 40 lb-ft of torque.
LIGHTWEIGHT & COMPACT
Only 5.5 pounds. Exclusive “Right-Angle” (RA) design allows manual valve operation with a standard wrench. Also minimizes length when installed, extending no more than 4 inches beyond the rim of a 1-ton container.
LOW MAINTENANCE
Robust motor requires no lubrication and is completely encased by a steel cover for protection and years of reliable service.

System Components
Every component of the MaxPro™ RA Pneumatic Valve Closure System is engineered
to be more versatile, efficient, and reliable than alternative units on the market.
The system includes the actuator, air control unit, control panel, mounting bracket,
and air supply hose.
Designed for Versatility
This patented design consists of a pneumatic drive with a spring-loaded coupler
designed to accommodate valve stems of varying lengths.
Durability
The actuator is constructed of aircraft-quality aluminum and high-grade carbon and
stainless steels for maximum service life. A two-step polyurethane coating provides
additional corrosion protection.
Maximum Control
The MaxPro™ RA Control Panel automatically activates the actuator to close
the valve in the event of a gas leak, fire alarm, seismic event, security breach,
process shutdown, or other monitored condition. You can also manually activate the
system by depressing the emergency stop button on the panel. A single control panel
can activate up to eight container-mounted actuators to close all eight valves —
simultaneously.
The
included 6-foot air supply hose has a safety swing coupling to ensure a secure connection
between actuator and gas supply, while helping to prevent kinks or tangles in the
hose.
The air control unit supplies the proper amount of clean, pressurized air to the
system.
UL - CUL Approved
Powell Valve Closure System control panels (UniPro, MaxPro RA & E-Pro) are listed
by Underwriters Laboratory to UL 508A for Enclosed Industrial Control Panels. Panels
are listed by Underwriters Laboratory bearing the UL & CUL mark for use in the
United States and Canada markets. In applications where a CSA listed control panel
in Canada is required, please contact Powell engineering
