Frequently Asked Questions About the UniPro Valve Closure Systems

Question:

Is there anything special I need to do with the valves when mounting the UniPro™ actuator on them?

Answer:

It is advisable to not leave the valve in the back-seated condition. After opening the valve completely by hand or with a T-bar or spanner, it should be closed 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. This results in a slightly quicker closing time and eliminates the possibility of a worn out valve sticking in the back-seated condition. Then the UniPro actuator should be installed on the valve handle.

In the case of the UniPro QT, the valve should be opened by hand first. when mounting the UniPro QT valve adapter to the valve handle, take care to insert the hitch pin so that it can be accessed for removal after the valve has been closed.
