Frequently Asked Questions About the UniPro Valve Closure Systems

Question:

What if an emergency closure is necessary while my operator is using the UniPro™ R to manipulate a valve on a tank car?

Answer:

The UniPro™ R is designed so that an emergency activation will stall any valve operation that the operator might be doing at the time of the emergency.

UniPro Reversible Pneumatic Valve Closure Actuator

For instance, if the operator is in the process of opening a valve with the UniPro™ R when an emergency activation takes place, the actuator would stop rotating the opening direction and alarms would go off indicating the emergency activation. The operator needs only to release the lever on the UniPro™ R manual valve and leave the scene. The UniPro™ will continue to close the valve with no further action on the part of the operator.
