Air Requirements for Pneumatic Systems



Powell is the only manufacturer to offer emergency shutdown systems with pneumatic or electric actuators for use on either small containers (150 lb. – 1 ton) or large containers (such as 90 ton railcars). What do I need on my platform to be able to use the UniPro™ Valve Closure System?

Answer:

You'll need a source of dry air at a dew point of -40 degrees (F or C) at 100-150 psig, or a source of nitrogen regulated to no more than 150 psig. The UniPro™ Air Control Unit regulates the supplied air pressure to the 90 psig required by all of the UniPro™ actuators.
